Fortune Avenue is funded in many different ways. Some of these ways include grants, pitching competitions, funding from the City of Boston, and individual donations.

Fortune Avenue hosts free workshops exploring essential financial skills such as budgeting, investing, and saving. The content of the workshops is structured in a way that makes it easy to understand, engaging, and informative for youth who may not have been exposed to the content previously. Once we conclude each workshop, we assess the demographic reached (to ensure that we are actually reaching our intended audience). We then propose changes to our workshop structure and location to reach the correct audience. Our workshops are completely free and easily accessible. We go to students, not the other way around. That means we host workshops and programs where students are already located, including at schools, workplaces, after-school organizations, and more. This prevents students from having to spend money on transportation. We also incentivize students using raffles, free food, prizes, and gift cards, which motivates students to show up and learn. We have found that these increase participation rates and the number of attendees. While we are still growing our organization, we are using data and employing strategies to make sure we reach our target demographic in an effective and engaging manner.

There are so many ways you can get involved!!If you are a student, you can use our calendar or our Instagram to sign up for our many workshops, summer program meetings, and other events. If you are a parent, business professional, or an adult looking to get involved, you can donate through the "Donate" page on our website. You can also volunteer to be a guest speaker by signing up through the "Our Initiatives" page. For any questions or concerns, feel free to email us!

You can either register by visiting "Upcoming Events" and clicking on the event OR fill out the form that is linked in the bio of our Instagram. Check your email for updates and more information after you sign up!

It will mostly be led by the Youth Team, but occasionally we invite guest speakers who come from business, financial, and entrepreneurial backgrounds to give advice and introduce new content. A lot of the content will be introduced through discussions, so it is not a lecture-based program.

Fortune Avenue doesn't have one specific location. We work at different offices around the City of Boston. Some of these include offices in Downtown and Copley. We also frequently work in spaces such as the Boston Public Library and Northeastern.
