Workforce Devlopment
Program
Fortune Avenue’s youth workforce development program accepts high school interns who are passionate about improving financial literacy among youth. Interns may choose to work within one department, split their time between two departments, or serve as general interns with varied responsibilities. Learn more about our four departments on the “About Us” page.

Summer
Intern
A summer only track designed for students seeking immersive, real-world experience over the summer months, this track is supported by a City of Boston workforce development grant and emphasizes direct project ownership in economic empowerment, alongside exposure to higher education and career pathways.
Program Milestones
2025: Team Growth

Following our 5 Week Summer Program, three participants were inspired by our mission to join the team as interns. Four additional interns joined in an extended term running August through May. Our Workforce Development track grew from there, organically, as people joined.

2026: Summer Cohort
In July, we launched our Summer 2026 cohort of 9 interns, supported by a $27,000 grant through the City of Boston's futureBOS/SuccessLink program.
Through our Summer Workforce Development Internship Program, made possible by a $27,000 grant from the City of Boston, our interns have achieved the following:
-
Raised over $2,000 through fundraisers
-
Hosted 5+ community workshops over the summer
-
Hosted a 4-day youth intensive at the Boston Public Library
-
Pitched their projects to SuccessLink staff
