On August 6th, Fortune Avenue hosted the fourth week of its 2025 Summer Program, focusing on the diverse career paths within the business world and encouraging students to think critically about their futures.
The session began with an inspiring guest speaker, Malachi Nelson, organizer of the Young Entrepreneurs Summit, who shared his personal journey and spoke about the importance of intentional career choices in business.
Afterward, students learned about four major career tracks—Private Equity, Marketing, Litigation, and Consulting—before stepping into an interactive simulation. Acting as private equity firms with $10M to invest, they analyzed companies, decided where to allocate their money, and then had to advise one company they invested in. Some chose to launch a marketing campaign, others to build a legal defense, and others to design a consulting plan—each option carried risks and rewards, just like in the real world.
Market surprises tested their strategies along the way, and by the end, each team calculated their final portfolio value to see who grew their $10M the most.
This workshop gave students not only a hands-on introduction to investing but also a chance to experience how different business careers influence the way problems are solved.
